Combining Physical and Emotional Healing Modalities with Jen Antill
Today I have my fiancee and partner in crime back on the podcast, Jen Antill. In episode 32 of the Primal Pioneer, we are going to talk about the importance of including both physical and emotional ways when it comes to healing your body. You guys know I’m huge on physical realms of healing, and Jen is gifted when it comes to emotional realms of healing. We are going to talk more about why combining these two is so vital for your healing journey.
But before we dive right in, let me introduce myself in case this is your first visit. I am your host, Heathar Shepard and I am incredibly passionate about helping people JUST LIKE YOU find the health and happiness they truly deserve.
Besides being an alternative healer and integrative health coach, I’m also a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor who struggled for 10 years until I discovered the MOST important factor for overall health: the environment we live and work in. And in The Primal Pioneer, I share what 98+% of doctors don’t tell you (or don’t even know!) about true health and wellness. You’ll learn about the importance of sunlight, as well as the foods and eating cycles that heal the root causes of chronic disease. And in an age dominated by technology, you’ll discover how EMF mitigation can drastically improve your life.
Everyone has their healing journey with their unique struggles...but I’m here to give you all the tools you need to make that healing happen!
So if you’re ready to learn more about combining physical and emotional healing modalities, then keep reading! And for even more details, listen to ALL of episode 32 of The Primal Pioneer on your favorite streaming platform.

Physical and Emotional Healing, Point #1: We need to find a meeting place between the physical and the emotional when it comes to healing.
When it comes to the emotional body and physical body influencing our health, it’s interesting that it’s not promoted in the mainstream world to combine these two. When you go to a therapist's office, let’s say for depression, they most likely put you on antidepressants. The go-to is prescribing medication. They don’t dive into emotional blocks that may be contributing to depression. This isn’t all therapists, but a lot of mainstream are trained in this way. When it comes to healing the physical body, a lot of people initially turn to diets or supplements. While that is an important part of the healing path, we need to find a meeting place between the physical and emotional.
These emotional realms aren’t widely taught or encouraged in our society today, it’s more so about physical. Again the physical is super conventional, inside the box, usually involves prescriptions. If you’re listening to this and you are thinking about how you’ve tried both physical and emotional aspects, I encourage you to continue reading the tips because the ways we usually go about healing is very inside the box and conventional. People tend to have preferences, so whether that be physical or emotional modalities, whichever you choose will open the doorway for healing. Then, once you determine a modality, you have to address the holistic aspect. Listen to your preference then open up to the ways you have to tend to your healing on all levels. Our western culture is taught to compartmentalize healing. Another example of how we tend to look at physical instead of emotional is if you have a loved one with a physical issue coming up such as cancer. We tend to look at the physical and again consider diets, prescription drugs, anything but emotional to heal this.

Physical and Emotional Healing, Point #2: You can’t separate physical, emotional, and mental. They are all interconnected and work together.
Especially when it comes to chronic diseases, and emotional trauma or insult, you cannot separate things. For example, if your father was an alcoholic as you grew up, you will have grown up with the emotional trauma from that experience. Later in life, let’s say you develop lung cancer. So when it comes to physical ailments, the emotional insult always precedes the physical manifestation of disease in the body. This is known and said throughout all of the ancient forms of medicine, as well as holistic forms. The western culture has totally disregarded this, but it’s key to know the physical chronic condition always has emotional traumas latched on to that physical manifestation.
We can’t truly separate and only heal the physical, and once that’s better take time to heal the emotions. They are together and connected. You see this often in homeopathy where they target emotions. The innate intelligence of that medicine is incredible, you give a remedy to clear emotional patterns and simultaneously clear physical ailments connected to that emotional pattern. These emotional and physical are so intertwined, we can’t separate them. There is a lot of room for improvement with our approach to healing. We can take something like vaccination toxicity or prescription drugs and your body had an adverse reaction. We can say that instance may not have been an emotional connection but in a lot of our chronic disease epidemics, there is this huge emotional and mental connection to the physical as well.

Physical and Emotional Healing, Point #3: We need to remove the stigma and humanize the normalcy that we need people who know how to tend to the emotional realm.
In our culture, addressing the physical is much more acceptable. From a very small age, we go to the doctor yearly and see them from the moment we’re born. We get checkups, we’re accustomed to this way of healing. We aren’t trained to be accustomed to alternative medicine, some people are, but most aren’t. There’s a lot of stigma and shame around tending to the emotional realm, it’s improved but it’s still there. Especially around the word therapy, it’s such a loaded word for people. People assume something is wrong with them having to talk about emotions with someone. We have to remove the stigma and humanize the normalcy that we need people who know how to tend to the emotional realm.
If we grew up in a culture where people knew how to be empathetic and compassionate, then we wouldn’t need therapists. We don’t grow up in that culture, that’s okay, we are working towards healing that. This is why therapists and counselors are still necessary, we are still training each other how to relate, understand, and hear one another. Innately you want to talk about your experiences or if you experience some sort of abuse as a child, you want someone safe to talk about these things with. As soon as you tap into this emotional realm, you will start to see areas in your life that may have been blocked due to an emotional pattern. As soon as someone who has a holistic approach can help you see that, then you can take action to rectify that emotional block.

Hi, I am Heathar
With over 12 years experience as an alternative healer, integrative health coach and one who has been through severe physical injury trying every remedy under the sun to heal myself with no avail…I’m here to tell you, all of those things are not only attainable but are foundational to achieving optimal health and are core elements to overcoming all chronic and stubborn diseases.
At the age of 23 I suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) preventing me from the ability to engage in physical activity for over 12 years post my car accident. Today, I know I could have recovered from this injury much quicker if I had known then what I know now! But….the accident lead me down the healing path. A path that I was destined to take to help myself heal and to learn how to help others heal complicated and chronic disorders as well.
During this time, I learned two things: How to harness the healing power of sunlight and how to utilize frequency based medicine to facilitate biological transformations in the body - all the way down to the mitochondrial level.
Today, I lead an active life and you can bet I’m uber passionate about teaching others how they can overcome even the most daunting health experiences that most medical professionals have band-aid solutions for, at best.

And today, my health continues to improve each day and I now lead an active, healthy lifestyle - all of which I thought would never be possible to achieve again. All it took was discovering the most effective path to health and healing to get me there and now, to help my clients get there as well!

Physical and Emotional Healing, Point #4: You can’t get a clear picture of what’s really going on if you’re on prescription drugs.
It’s quite difficult to tell if you’re making progress with your emotional well being when you’re on medication. This medication is covering symptoms and repressing them from coming to the surface. We have to see the symptoms without the medication and see who you really are without it. To get a feel for where people are at, we have to remove that blanket over their psyche so we can watch the emotions come to the surface and get to the root of what’s happening.
The drugs also cover up feelings and emotions. You have no idea what the real pattern of the individual is when it’s masked by medications. So many of us are afraid if we start feeling the pain or the disconnect, that we will stay in those feelings. It’s the opposite, the more we feel, the more we release, and the more we can feel other things. The suppression is the reason this continues to stay in the body. Eventually, the body has to release and can’t continue to contain, so it’ll release in many ways, whether it’s eruptions on the skin or something else. If someone is on prescription drugs and not able to get off them or not willing, that’s their choice. It will cloud the path to healing. Getting off prescription drugs is so helpful if you are in a position to do that.
