I want to uncover all the different layers and bases you must take into consideration from mental, emotional, and physical.

Is a Therapeutic Keto Diet Safe in Cancer, Point #1: In the cancer world and weight-loss world, a ketogenic diet is promoted as very helpful for these conditions? It can be, but I tend to use a more modified ketogenic diet.

When it comes to the question, “What diet is best for me if I have breast cancer?”, there are so many layers to cover. A listener sent in a question for me and explained that her ketogenic diet is not working out the way she’d hoped, as well as seeing her hormones struggling. Her lab results are not going in the direction she would like, especially after really committing to the ketogenic diet. In the cancer world and weight-loss world, a ketogenic diet is promoted as very helpful for these conditions. It can be, but I tend to use a more modified ketogenic diet. Usually, people who go hard-core on the ketogenic diet, especially women, tend not to go as smoothly with results as it does for males.

Ask yourself how you feel when you are following a ketogenic diet, if you’re not feeling very good, something is off. When you engage in a diet or any healing modality, you want to see some signs of improvement. If you’re not feeling better, that’s a red flag. We need to dissolve the myth that diet is the key solution to any condition including cancer, truthfully, the light environment is most important. Instead of a food diet, we need to think of our healing in terms of a light environment. Then we must take the steps to improve our light environment.

Is a Therapeutic Keto Diet Safe in Cancer, Point #2: We need to dismiss this blind belief that hormone-positive cancers shouldn’t include meat or animal products in a diet because they are going to alter the hormones even more.

This is a very inaccurate belief, if you have hormone-related cancer, you can have it for a different reason than a million other individuals with the same cancer. Assuming just because you have hormone positive cancer, you should avoid animal products is a very black and white approach. This doesn’t go very deep into the reasons why you may be struggling with hormonal imbalances or hormonal cancer. You can argue a bit with this if you are eating very poor quality animal products such as McDonald's, chicken nuggets, or fried meats, then in these cases, it can destructively influence the hormones.

This is a big reason why I am such a proponent of grass-fed animal fats and healthy fats in the diet if you get the wrong fats in your diet that can diminish hormone health. In general, if you are eating very healthy fats such as grass-fed butter, pasture-raised lard, or coconut oils, these fats are designed to support hormone health. These are very important aspects to have in your diet despite what you are struggling with, especially if you have a hormone imbalance and want to rebuild the hormones. You need cholesterol in your diet to rebuild hormones.

Is a Therapeutic Keto Diet Safe in Cancer, Point #3: Not all individuals, but many have been on a long-term vegan or vegetarian diet in their life and they still came up against a cancer diagnosis. A vegan or vegetarian diet does not prevent cancer in all cases.

This question from the listener also expressed she had a previous history with a long-term vegan diet. From all the things the listener read and collected her information, she’s afraid to add in meat and animal products due to conflicting signs that could happen such as estrogen levels to rise. I want to mention that again this is a blind belief, also, here’s something for you to think about. If meat and animal products actually did contribute to hormone-positive cancers, then a vegan diet should really protect against this in the first place. We know this individual was on a vegan diet for much of their adult life, however, this individual still got a cancer diagnosis and a hormone positive cancer.

If it was really to make sense that animal products cause cancer, then we could hypothetically say eating a vegan or vegetarian diet would prevent this disease. I want to bring this point up because I do see many people in the Ketogenic cancer solution Facebook page I manage that has been on a long-term vegan or vegetarian diet, yet they still came up against a cancer diagnosis. That right there in itself is proof that a vegan or vegetarian diet does not prevent cancer in all cases. I rarely prescribe a vegan diet to people with a history of veganism, I rarely recommend that diet in any case, however, some people may need a short-term vegetarian to cleanse.

Is a Therapeutic Keto Diet Safe in Cancer, Point #4: A poor light environment is at the root of our hormonal struggles.

When it comes to understanding the causes behind hormonal struggles, we can google some possible causes. If we google this, we will see things like how animal products cause hormonal cancers, stress plays a role, and a high-fat diet plays a role. These are some of the most common things you’ll see when you google search the question, but let’s dive into why this happens. Firstly, a poor light environment is the number one cause. The dots we need to start connecting is that when light hits your eye, it sends signals to your pituitary gland and anterior pituitary gland regarding hormone signaling. Living indoors predominantly you will get mostly blue light in your home, a poor light environment is at the root of our hormonal struggles.

This includes hormone-positive breast cancers, infertility, menstrual struggles, any hormonal imbalance. We have not fully accepted this but it is very apparent in the scientific literature, we just need to turn our vision and attention to these studies and be more open to this information regarding light environments. We follow a linear fashion when it comes to cancer and chronic diseases. With the Pandemic, we are told to stay indoors and work from home. This is just further perpetuating the issue. A lot of people have flatlined hormonal health simply because they are interacting with the wrong type of light, this is one core driving cause of cancer. Remember, light trumps diet. You could be eating the best diet in the world but if you are surrounded by poor light, that’s a block to healing.

The Bottom Line of Is a Therapeutic Keto Diet Safe in Cancer?

When it comes to cancer, there is no one diet that fits all. Topics that I covered today are some of the things to help the physical body get back into a healthier and more balanced place. To truly keep that physical health rooted, we must address the emotional and mental issues that date back as far as from birth all the way up to the present day.
