The Truth About Cholesterol and Clogged Arteries
Last week’s episode was focused on fats and I’m sure that brought up some questions for you around cholesterol. In episode 35 of the Primal Pioneer, I am talking all about cholesterol to help you understand it clearly while approaching it without fear around heart disease and clogged arteries. This topic is very misunderstood in our culture today and it stems from the pharmaceutical industry, which I’ll get further in detail on in today’s episode.

Truth About Cholesterol, Point #1: We only became concerned with cholesterol since the birth of the statin drug industry.
Doctors have a statin drug quota they have to meet and if they don’t meet it, they experience consequences or could even have their license threatened. I know some medical doctors who will simply write a statin drug RX but tell their patients to throw it in the trash on their way out. As a standard of care and practice, it’s expected of doctors to meet this quota. Since this whole statin drug industry has come about, we have been brainwashed in regards to cholesterol. We weren’t taught to consider whether our cholesterol was good or bad until this industry was born. When we look at cholesterol, there’s a bunch of studies, the Framingham Study is a popular one. It’s a very biased study that points fingers at cholesterol as the root cause of clogged arteries, however, that’s not the full truth. There’s more to that.
Cholesterol does not cause cardiac events or clogged arteries unless it’s oxidized in the arteries. I will dive further into this later in the episode as well. People don’t know this because it’s not the message our media and doctors tell us, they don’t tell us that cholesterol is one of the most important molecules in our body. Cholesterol is so important as well as melatonin. In my perspective, these two are the most critical. We aren’t giving cholesterol the credit it needs. It’s a big part of our immune system, hormonal health, assists with Vitamin D Production, as well as allowing the body to detox in healthy ways. A lot of people I work with who have chronic diseases, as a result of that, they have a poor detox capability. One lab I look at as I work with a client is their LDL levels, not because of worry around cholesterol, but because LDL is a big indicator of how well you can detox. When LDL cholesterol levels are below 200, that’s a red flag that the detox is significantly compromised.

Truth About Cholesterol, Point #2: We’re just told to look at the bad aspects of cholesterol, we aren’t told about all these remarkable and important aspects that are vital to our health.
When we see a lot of people with cancer who have low LDL levels on paper when we look at labs, we have to remember there is more to go through and analyze with the patient for treatment. However, when it comes to cancer, most people have an LDL cholesterol level below 200. If you have an LDL cholesterol level below 200, your risk of cancer increases. I always strive to get my clients to increase the LDL cholesterol levels, this can take a while for them to wrap their heads around due to all the brainwashing we’ve had with cholesterol being bad. Both LDL, the “bad” cholesterol we are told is bad, and then the HDL or “good” cholesterol, is crucial and necessary for health. The worst thing someone can do for their health is to take a statin drug. By taking a statin drug to lower your cholesterol, a lot of health risks come up in other areas.
When it comes to LDL cholesterol, it has some great health benefits. Firstly, it’s an antioxidant that removes and clears toxins from the body. Especially germ toxins. If these toxins aren’t cleared, then it can lead to health issues later in life. Secondly, this influences redox potential. I will sum this up briefly because redox potential is a key to health. If your redox potential is high, you’ll have no issue healing or preventing diseases. If it’s low, there will be some issues with susceptibility to chronic disease. Redox potential means how charged your battery is. Same as our iPhone battery that we charge, when our batteries get low, we don’t replug the way we should. One of the biggest underlying causes of disease is when that redox potential diminishes and the negative charge in your cell diminishes. When LDL cholesterol level is low, this is an indicator that your battery is losing its charge.
Truth About Cholesterol, Point #3: Vitamin D and LDL cholesterol are connected.
In order to make Vitamin D, you need LDL cholesterol alongside 312 nanometer light. This light is UVB light, it’s the light that makes vitamin D. Let’s say your LDL cholesterol is low and below 200, your doctors will champion you and congratulate you that you have a heart-healthy low cholesterol level. Let’s assess this a bit deeper, if your LDL is that low, there’s no way you can make vitamin D. You have such little LDL cholesterol at this point that even if you’re in sunlight, you won’t pump out vitamin D. This is where a lot of other factors play in, such as the metabolic reset diet, homeopathy, and your light environment. There has to be steps taken to healthily improve your LDL cholesterol production.
A lot of people who are compromised with chronic conditions or low-grade infections tend to have low LDL levels. If we want to raise our vitamin D levels the way nature intended using Sunlight Rx, we have to make sure we have adequate LDL cholesterol levels. These levels plus UVB light equals vitamin D production. This is key and that’s why lowering your LDL cholesterol through a statin drug or heart-healthy diet is a bad idea. It’s not only a bad idea, it’s dangerous for your health. I hope this brings you clarity around LDL cholesterol.

Truth About Cholesterol, Point #4: The topic that cholesterol causes clogged arteries is a myth. Arteries become clogged when cholesterol oxidizes.
I want to dive into the cholesterol causing clogged arteries myth. This is a very black and white misunderstood topic. Let’s take a look at what really causes clogged arteries in the first place. We’ve been told cholesterol causes clogged arteries, but we need to get a correct and clear story. Arteries become clogged when cholesterol hangs out in the arteries for a long period of time. You just learned that cholesterol is naturally designed to have antioxidant properties, it goes into your body to clean the house, taking out any germ toxins. Cholesterol is a highly under championed antioxidant.
Arteries become clogged when cholesterol goes into a lull state and basically falls asleep. This can cause cholesterol to oxidize. Naturally, cholesterol has this buoyant fluffy health-promoting particle size, if it sits in the arteries too long, then it becomes oxidized and develops into a small dense jagged piece of iron. This is one of the driving factors behind arterial plaque. It’s not the cholesterol itself that’s bad and dangerous, it’s how it acts in your body that makes the difference. The good news is that you have the ability to manipulate how cholesterol acts in your body. Here’s what actually can cause cholesterol to become oxidized and immobile in your arteries, these are all things you can prevent.
- Sunlight deficiency.
- Sedentary lifestyle.
- Indoor lifestyle tethered to modern technology and artificial light.
- Vitamin D deficiency.
- Pathogen load that hasn’t been cleared from the body.
- Toxins or chemicals that haven’t been cleared from the body.
- Liquid vegetable and seed oils.
The Bottom Line of The Truth About Cholesterol and Clogged Arteries
Get your Sunlight Rx on, it’s one of the easiest things you can do to prevent cholesterol from oxidizing in the arteries. Take all those eight tips I mentioned at the end, as well as how they are highly helpful for preventing and overcoming this issue millions of people face today. Is LDL cholesterol in general the cause of clogged arteries? We cannot say with 100% certainty, but we can accurately say that one of the main contributing factors to clogged arteries is oxidized cholesterol due to a poor light environment, poor dietary practices, artificial light, stress, and pathogens that haven’t been removed from the body.
